Each Punto Italiano shirt is made with the greatest care in our camiceria in Perugia, Umbria.
The most important features of our shirts are:
- top quality fabrics;
- exclusivity by making limited editions (10-20 pieces per shirt);
- the Italian flag placed right above the cuff.
.IT supplies top quality and exclusive design at affordable prices, but prices are not rock-bottom. The costs of a shirt are determined by a number of factors. The most important are: materials, labour and production.
Fabrics
Fabrics are incomparable. Punto Italiano uses the best there is available. We work with the top suppliers of Italy. For most shirts we use
the fabrics of well renowned Tessitura Monti.
All our fabrics are 100% Egyptian cotton (unless stated otherwise in case of linen). The most important feature of this cotton is that the fibres are longer than those of other types of
cotton, making it possible to weave a denser fabric. All our fabrics are doppio ritorto (two ply). These twisted
yarns enhance comfort through increased softness and strength. The combination of 100% Egyptian cotton and doppio ritorto
results in a shirt that maintains its suppleness and comfortable feel.
Labour
Italy is no China, Thailand or Viëtnam. The costs of labour, but also the costs of secondary provisions such as housing, social
expenses and taxes, are far higher in Italy than in South East Asia. In exchange, you –and we– can rely on some fundamental
guarantees:
- there is no exploitation of personnel;
- no child labour;
- and environmental impact is taken into account.
In our philosophy, this is an important part of quality. We hope you are open to sharing this philosophy with us. In addition, made in
Italy is an institution throughout the world. It is synonymous with elegance and a respected trademark of its own.
Production
Besides fabrics, the operational management of the supplier is important. The design and standards of the manufacturing process
are essential. Stitches (7-8 stitches per centimetre) and the adhesive materials in the collar and cuffs all amount to impeccable
detail and quality. Everything is done to ensure your comfort and the feeling of superb quality.
